SAIC young architects went to Chicago Architecture Foundation to look at model of Chicago and Navy Pier Pavilion design competition. After visiting the Thorne Galleries in the Art Institute, the young architects learned about material, scale, and texture. They then built model rooms with foam cores, rice paper, corrugated cardboard, construction paper and model magic. They were encouraged to explore the design of their Dream Room by drawing plans and sections of the design.

SAIC 10-13 year old architects learned to design a small object using Rhino 4.0 and Google Sketchup programs.
