Seashell Packages

Young Graphic Designers visited the Nautilus Shell Cup in the Art Institute Museum to learn about package design. They were asked to create branding identities for seashells – including logos, wordmarks, tag lines, and package designs – with Adobe Illustrator to create packaging templates.

After looking at logos and brand treatments of different companies, young graphic designers learned about wordmarks, brandmarks, and taglines. They created logos and taglines for fictional companies using vector shapes and type in Adobe Illustrator.

After visiting the “Write Now” Show at the Cultural Center and Islamic Calligraphy at the Islamic Art Gallery of the Art Institute, SAIC young Graphic Designers learned about Type, Font, Vector/Bezier Curves and used text to create portraits and landscapes using Adobe Illustrator and laser cutters.
