WBEZ Features SAIC Alumna and Faculty Member in Chicago Amplified July 26, 2012—WBEZ Chicago Public Radio recorded a public conversation between SAIC alumna Julia Perkins and her father Useni Eugene Perkins about the history, art collections, and individuals of the South Side Community Art Center (SSCAC) on July 14. The discussion was part of a free series called “The Art of Community Speaks Across Generations,” a series of talks about the SSCAC between two artists of different generations. Their conversation will become part of Chicago Amplified, WBEZ’s public programs archive “inspiring public discourse about a vast array of topics…and the importance of shared experience in both our personal and collective history.” SAIC Photography faculty member Heidi Norton (MFA 2002) will join them on Chicago Amplified after August 14; her lecture at the Museum of Contemporary Art will also be recorded for the archive.
