The Sound Department will be having two amazing sound poetry collaborators from Switzerland, Jacques Demierre and Vincent Barras, in the department as visiting artists April 18 – 22. In addition to sound poetry, they are also involved in a number of other areas as well, including improvised music and sound installation. Interestingly, Vincent is also a medical historian with a focus on the history of medieval medicine. In addition to the Wednesday colloquium, they are currently scheduled to visit Lou Mallozzi’s undergraduate class Writing Drawing Talking on Monday 6PM-9PM, and Mark Booth’s Aloud class Thursday 1PM-4PM.

They will be performing at the Renaissance Society in Hyde Park on Wednesday April 20 at 8PM, and at Experimental Sound Studio on Saturday April 23 at 8PM.
